What is a Lithosphere?
The Lithosphere is the rigid outer part of the earth, almost like skin and is comprised of the crust and the upper mantle. The earth consists of two types of lithospheres: oceanic and continental. The lithosphere is broken up into tectonic plates.
The Lithosphere is part of the four spheres. As said above there are two types of lithospheres. The oceanic lithosphere is slightly denser than the continental lithosphere whereas the continental lithosphere is much more thicker than the oceanic lithosphere. The tectonic plates move creating mountains, valleys, volcanoes, and even oceans.

In the photos below you can see examples of the Lithosphere. In these photos you can see that they are all showing the earths crust and it shows what is happening below us (under the ground). All of the pictures show us rocks and dirt. A majority of the photos are taken on an oblique angle, one is a panorama and a couple are taken on ground level.
