Temperate Forests

Humans have impacted on the temperate forests in many ways some of which are both bad and good. Deforestation of these temperate forests almost had a domino effect. Around 8,000 years ago in the Mediterranean area , most of these forests had been cut down and used for timber. China noticed this and decided to the same 4,000 years ago. 500 years ago in Europe, the original deciduous (temperate forest) had disappeared but Is still remembered today from folktales. These deciduous forests had been almost completely cleared towards the end of the 19th century and the same happened for Australia and new Zealand.
